Dinner done in 12 minutes and only one pan to clean!

July 17, 2010

I have been making burgers,a different burger every night. I go to Whole Foods once a week and I buy one pound packages of different meats, pork, lamb, turkey, buffalo and sometimes regular ol’ 85% ground beef . This has really simplified my life and it is delicious!

I add raw pumpkin seeds,Fresh or frozen spinach,Panko bread crumbs or just chop up a few slices of bread, chopped onion to the meat of the day. Form into 4 patties. It makes a nice size burger with all of the additives and it is only 4oz of meat which is a healthy serving size.

Put a little olive oil in the pan… heat med-med high. Add the burger, put a lid on and cook for 6 minutes. Add chicken or beef broth about 3 minutes in to prevent sticking.

Here is the best part!

After 6 minutes flip the burgers and add some fresh greens , peppers, zucchini, summer squash,(whatever is in season) add a little more broth. Put the lid on a cook for 6 more minutes.

On your plate, you can have more fresh greens, yummy sliced tomatoes, burger, steamed veges, goat cheese (if you want). I always use Bragg’s Liquid Aminos for a condiment instead of ketchup. Pam’s healthy tip of the year! So good for you and no sugar. You don’t need ketchup.

Dinner done in 12 minutes and only one pan to clean.

Delicious and low-glycemic!

Please share your quick healthy recipes! We all need a little help in the kitchen. I have been in there for so many years. It is nice to stay inspired!

I made these burgers with turkey meat several times now, and they are soooo yummy! It’s especially tasty with the liquid aminos.
